Summary:
As the core power component of wet spray machines, the condition of a diesel engine's oil system directly affects the equipment's operational reliability and service life. According to statistics, over 80% of sudden diesel engine failures are linked to improper oil management. Therefore, conducting a systematic oil inspection before startup is crucial—it can effectively prevent issues such as inadequate lubrication, cooling system failure, and fuel contamination, ultimately extending the equipment's lifespan by more than 30%.
1. Engine Oil Check
1. Oil Level Check
Measure after the machine has been stopped for 10 minutes, ensuring the oil level is at the 2/3 mark between the MIN and MAX markings on the dipstick.
During winter construction, the oil level can be brought close to the MAX line to compensate for the reduced fluidity caused by low temperatures.
2. Oil Quality Testing
Viscosity: When rubbed between fingers, there should be a noticeable sticky sensation, and the dripping rate should exceed 3 seconds per drop (at 20°C).
Pollution Level: Conduct a filter paper diffusion test—oil ring diameter should be less than 30 mm, and there should be no metallic particle reflections.
Emulsification condition: No milky-white flocculent material at the end of the dipstick (moisture content should be <0.5%).
3. Supplementary and Replacement Standards
If the oil level is below the MIN line, top up with the same type of engine oil.
If the oil quality has severely deteriorated (e.g., turned black, emulsified, or exceeds the allowable metal particle levels), it should be replaced immediately.
II. Fuel System Inspection
1. Fuel Level Check
Ensure the fuel tank level is above 1/3 to prevent condensation from accumulating.
2. Oil-Water Separator Maintenance
Drain the oil-water separator before starting up each day, continuing until clear diesel flows out.
If the ambient temperature drops below -10°C, 5% antigel additive must be added to No. 0 diesel fuel.
3. Fuel Filter Condition
The amount of impurities deposited inside the transparent filter should be less than 1/3 of its height; otherwise, it needs to be replaced.
3. Coolant Check
1. Liquid Level Check
The expansion tank level should be within the calibrated range, and the liquid surface must be clearly visible during a static inspection.
2. Freeze-Resistance Performance Test
During winter construction, the ethylene glycol concentration must be maintained to ensure no freezing occurs at -25°C.
Use a freezing-point tester or test strips for detection.
3. pH Value and Additives
The coolant pH should be maintained between 7.5 and 11 (an acidic environment can easily corrode the cylinder head gasket).
Add DCA4 preservative every 500 hours (normal color is pale green).
4. Hydraulic Oil Inspection (if applicable)
1. Cleanliness Testing
The oil sample dropped onto white paper should show no black particles (NAS contamination level ≤ Grade 9).
2. Viscosity Change Assessment
The difference in flow rate between new and old oil should be less than 15%.
3. Foam Test
Before starting, the oil-surface foam should dissipate within 30 seconds; otherwise, check for leaks or consider changing the oil.
V. Exception Handling and Maintenance Recommendations
1. Tiered Response Mechanism
Minor abnormalities (such as low oil level): Record and top up to the standard value.
Moderate abnormality (slight emulsification of oil): Shorten the inspection cycle and send a sample for testing.
Severe abnormality (excessive metal particles): Immediately stop the machine and perform oil spectral analysis.
2. Long-term Management Measures
Create a visual inspection dashboard (including standard fluid condition comparison charts).
Establish an electronic ledger and scan codes to enter oil fluid status data.
Submit oil samples to the laboratory quarterly to establish equipment lubrication records.
