Greater Heat (Dàshǔ), the twelfth solar term in the 24 solar terms, is also the last solar term of summer, falling annually on July 22-24 of the Gregorian calendar. The three dog days are characterized by high temperatures and intense heat, representing the hottest and most humid time of the year.
